The Hamlet Foundation was founded in 1954 by a group of parents whose children were exempted from normal schooling. It has grown and developed to include a school for 270 intellectually disabled children, a residential center for 54 intellectually disabled adults and a protective workshop for 200 intellectually disabled adult workers.
Our focus is on development and empowerment of the individual towards achieving their maximum potential, enabling them to lead as normal a life as possible. A support system is provided to siblings and parents and to the broader community.
Clinix Health Group over the last 12 years, has been main sponsor of the annual awards ceremony. The national awards celebrate the work and achievements of all the brave men and women who have triumphed in spite of their disability. We also provide a meaningful tribute to the dedicated men and women who have given their time so tirelessly, to assist those with intellectual disabilities.
The monies raised go towards assisting in the day-to-day running of the Hamlet School, Workshop and Foundation.
Clinix Health Group has sponsored the Stix Morewa Soccer Challenge since 2006.
Through this sponsorship, we promote, develop, and govern the game of soccer for the benefit of young players in Soweto and surrounding areas.
The tournament has produced players who are now in Premier Soccer League teams and have played in the National Team representing South Africa at the World Cup. E.g. Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Sphiwe Tshabalala, Siyabonga Zulu (Platinum Stars), Thulani Hlatswayo and Thulani Serero.
The SANDF in partnership with it’s sponsors of the Goodwill Parcel Project, Clinix Health Group being one of them, sends festive cheers to the deployed soldiers and their families.
